At the 3rd & Goal Foundation, we believe you are never too young to make a difference, and this month we are thrilled to recognize Ellie as our Volunteer of the Month.

Ellie is 9 years old and will turn 10 tomorrow, February 22. For the past four years, she has been volunteering with 3rd & Goal, bringing a joyful heart and deep love for our veterans to every activity she participates in.

This month, Ellie made homemade Valentine’s cards for the homeless veterans we serve. We were honored to distribute them on her behalf, sharing her messages of kindness and appreciation with those who needed it most. Her thoughtful gesture reminded our veterans that they are seen and loved.

Ellie has also helped assemble Thanksgiving meal kits to ensure veteran families could enjoy a full holiday meal together. In addition for many years, she has faithfully stuffed stockings for veterans as part of Operation Joy Adopt a Hero, always taking pride in making the holidays brighter for those who have sacrificed so much.

When asked what she enjoys most about volunteering, Ellie said, “I enjoy spending time together with my family to help those in need.” Service truly is a family affair for Ellie. Her family has been a consistent supporter of 3rd & Goal, giving generously and instilling in her a heart for honoring those who served.

Her dedication is deeply personal. Ellie shared, “Important people in my life, my Grandpa Jimmy, my Grandpa Mike, and my Uncle Josh, all served in the Military, and I want to do something special for them and for all the other people who have served our country. I want Veterans to know how special they are!”

Ellie serves with excitement, compassion, and a genuine desire to make every veteran feel special. We are incredibly grateful for her and her amazing family. She is a shining example of the next generation and we are honored to celebrate her this month.
