At the 3rd & Goal Foundation, our volunteers are the heart of everything we do and this month, we’re honored to recognize Bobby as our November Volunteer of the Month!

Bobby is the kind of volunteer every organization loves to have. He’s always eager to help, often reaching out to ask how he can do more and he rarely comes alone. Whether it’s a food distribution, a holiday outreach, or the Blue Jacket Golf Outing, Bobby brings coworkers and friends along to share in our mission of serving veterans in need. His enthusiasm for giving back is contagious and has inspired countless others to get involved.

As the head of the Military Support and Assistance Group (MSAG) in Central Ohio, Bobby has long been passionate about supporting veterans. When he first learned about 3rd & Goal, he immediately connected with our mission. “3rd & Goal is an amazing organization, and I loved what y’all were doing,” he said. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to be part of the mission.”

Bobby’s compassion comes from a place of personal understanding. Having grown up with limited resources, he remembers what it felt like to face uncertainty and make the most of what little was available. That experience shaped his empathy and fuels his drive to serve veterans.

One of his favorite memories as a volunteer was at the Blue Jacket Golf Outing, where he met one of his all-time favorite Buckeyes, Robert Smith. It’s a story he still laughs about, admitting it took him several minutes to find his words a rare occurrence for someone known for his outgoing personality!

Bobby’s commitment extends well beyond his time. Through his role at Bank of America, he also fundraises for the foundation by taking advantage of corporate matching gifts and volunteer grants. After logging volunteer hours, he directs those grants to 3rd & Goal, and he’s even organized a workplace golf outing where all proceeds benefited our mission.

We are so grateful for Bobby’s servant leadership, positivity, and passion for making a difference. Thank you, Bobby, for leading by example and for continuing to share our mission wherever you go. Your dedication reminds us all what the power of service can do.
