Volunteer of the Month: Barb

At the 3rd & Goal Foundation, our volunteers make it all possible, and this month we are proud to recognize Barb as our Volunteer of the Month.

Barb has been volunteering with the 3rd & Goal Foundation for over four years, and her dedication is felt in countless ways. She generously donates her time, is a consistent supporter of our Amazon Wish List, and often encourages her family to get involved as well. Whether she’s volunteering alongside her husband or helping connect support through business partners, Barb continually goes above and beyond to support our mission and the veterans we serve.

Her passion for volunteering is deeply personal. With four family members across her and her husband’s families having served our country, Barb sees her involvement with the foundation as a meaningful way to honor their service and give back to those who make the freedoms we enjoy every day possible.

One of Barb’s favorite initiatives is Operation Joy, especially during the holiday season. She loves the behind-the-scenes work including organizing, wrapping gifts, and preparing for veteran families. She knows these efforts help bring joy and relief during a meaningful time of year. Barb also enjoys our fundraising events, from golf outings to beer pong tournaments, where the foundation’s mission and community come together in a way that is both fun and impactful while challenging everyone to raise more support each year.

What continues to inspire Barb is the way the 3rd & Goal Foundation thoughtfully carries out its mission through Operation Home, Operation Education, and Operation Joy. She values knowing that funds raised are used strategically, intentionally, and where they are needed most.

Barb continues to volunteer because she sees the impact firsthand and knows the foundation is committed to meeting real needs as they arise. Hearing phrases like, “They’ve asked for this, and we’re going to do what we need to do to get it to them,” reinforces her pride in being part of an organization that is mission-driven, impactful, and fun.
