3rd & Goal Foundation Expands Operation Education to the University of Toledo

The 3rd & Goal Foundation is proud to announce that the University of Toledo has officially joined our Operation Education initiative, becoming the program’s fourth partner institution.

Operation Education is at the heart of our mission to help veterans achieve their college degrees while removing the unique obstacles they often face in higher education. Through our partnerships, we have seen measurable impact: improved retention, stronger GPAs, and an enhanced sense of community and morale among student veterans.

As part of this new partnership, the 3rd & Goal Foundation will fund 12 scholarships for military-connected students during this academic year at the University of Toledo, while also providing additional support for programming and events that bring military students together. This includes covering food and programming costs to help make these programs more accessible and welcoming.

A few examples of the University of Toledo’s programming this fall include:

• Student Parent Study Night – giving veterans with children a space to study for finals while their kids are cared for.

• Veteran Experience Panel – creating space for veterans to share their stories and build connections.

• Veterans Day Breakfast – honoring service members on campus.

• Friendsgiving – building community and camaraderie among military-connected students.

• And more throughout the year.

This partnership will directly impact more than 175 military-connected students annually, ensuring they have the resources, support, and sense of community they need to thrive in higher education.
