Notre Dame Football fans remember Brady Quinn as the record setting Quarterback who went on to play in the NFL but to SSgt Dick of the Ohio National Guard (ONG) he’s even more than that.
Brady Quinn, who created The 3rd and Goal Foundation, contacted the USO of Central & Southern Ohio and ask them to help him locate a military family who could use some help during the Christmas season. Sue Ann Carroll of the USO reached out to the ONG who recommended the Sgt Dick family who was dealing with several set-backs through no fault of their own.
Through his foundation, Brady provided gift cards for BP, Kroger, AMC Theaters and more to the family. When asked why he chose to help this family, Brady said “Christmas time is the season to rejoice and be thankful for the many blessings in our lives. Sgt Dick’s commitment and service to our country should never go unnoticed, and we are thankful we were able to help bring more joy to his family this past Christmas!”
Brady Quinn recently visited the USO office where he was able to meet Sgt Dick who personally thanked Brady for his assistance, “We are sincerely grateful for the gift cards we received from Brady Quinn and his 3rd and Goal Foundation this past Christmas. Although unexpected, the gifts made the Christmas season a little less stressful after dealing with loss of pay during government furlough and several repairs that we dealt with during the year.”
The 3rd and Goal Foundation is committed to making a difference in the lives of our veterans. 3rd and Goal assists veterans facing homelessness and veterans requiring home improvements in order to make their lives more comfortable. We will continually provide support and care to veterans by any means in thanks for their service to our country.
