My name is Doug Schultz and I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana where I lived for the first 37 years of my life. I joined the Army Reserves after graduation from South Side High School in 1970. After spending six months in basic and active duty, I returned home and attended Ball State University in Muncie for my freshman year. I transfered to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where I graduated with a BS in Business Marketing. At I.U., I played Club Hockey for 3 years.
Upon graduation from I.U. I went to work for Riker Labatories as a pharmaceutical sales representive. I worked for Riker for 2 years and then went to work for SmithKline&French Pharmaceuticals. I worked for what eventually became GlaxoSmithKline for 35 years, working my way up the ladder and becoming a Regional Sales Director in the Ohio market. I was recognized as one of the top 6 managers in the entire sales organization in 2006. I was promoted to Regional Sales Director in 2002. This promotion is only earned by the top 1% of the speciality sales management team. I retired from GSK in 2012 and after a year I realized I was not ready to be retired so I went to work for Sunovion Pharmaceuticals as a Regional Business Manager for 2 years before retiring again.
I am currently working 3 days a week for the Military Veterans Resource Center who’s primary focus is to help veterans find jobs. My other accomplishments include being the Tournament Director for the 14 year old CABA World Series held in Dublin, Ohio. This 10 day tournament drew 14 year old baseball teams from around the United States.
